The best creator platforms, ranked by what you keep
There is no single best creator platform. The right one depends on what you sell, and the fees decide how much of each sale reaches you. We score 31 platforms on the same five measures and show our math.
Fully independent and unpaid. No sponsors, no paid placements, no affiliate links. How we stay independent.

Questions people ask
What is the best creator platform?
There is no single best creator platform; it depends on what you sell. Our 2026 picks: recurring fan support, Ko-fi; paid newsletters, Kit; selling downloads and links, Beacons; courses and paid communities, Podia; brand deals and sponsorships, Passionfroot. Each pick is the top score in its category on fees, features, ease, audience ownership and payouts.
Which creator platform takes the lowest fees?
Of the 21 creator-side platforms we price, Whop takes the least from $1,000 of monthly sales at $10 each: about $57 including card processing. YouTube channel memberships takes the most, about $300. Flat-fee plans get cheaper as you sell more.
What is a creator marketplace?
A creator marketplace is a site or app where brands find creators and pay them for sponsored posts, videos or user-generated content. Some are run by the social apps, like TikTok One and YouTube BrandConnect. Others are independent, like Collabstr and Insense.
Do I own my audience on a creator platform?
It varies a lot. Some platforms let you export every email and connect your own Stripe account, so you can leave with your customers. Others keep the payment relationship, which means members must sign up again if you move. Our ownership score measures exactly this.
Is Best Creator Platforms independent?
Best Creator Platforms is fully independent. No creator platform, marketplace, brand or sponsor owns us, funds us or pays us, and none has any say in what we publish. All of our research is unpaid and nothing on this site is sponsored: no paid placements, no sponsored reviews and no affiliate links. Every fee and figure is verified against the platform's own pricing and help pages, dated, and linked so you can check it yourself.
How often do you update these rankings?
We recheck fees against each platform's official pricing page and date every review. The current data was checked in October 2026. Scores change when fees or features change, never because a platform paid us.
Rankings aren't for sale
Every platform gets five scores out of 10. Fees count for 30%, and for creator-side platforms we calculate that score from published pricing instead of judging it. Features and ownership count for 20% each, ease and payouts for 15% each. No platform pays for a review or a position.
