Gumroad vs Payhip
Verdict. Payhip wins, and it isn't close for anyone who sells every month. Its free plan takes 5%, half of Gumroad's 10%, and Gumroad adds 50¢ per sale on top. Our math puts $1,000 a month in $10 sales at about $108 on Payhip Plus against $209 on Gumroad, and $5,000 a month at $304 against $805. Payhip also sends each sale straight to your own Stripe or PayPal account, while Gumroad needs a $100 balance and holds every sale at least 7 days. Gumroad's remaining edge is tax, which it handles worldwide as merchant of record.

| Payouts | Weekly, monthly or quarterly payouts need a $100 balance, and each sale is held at least 7 days. Bank deposits go out in local currency in most countries and take 2 to 7 business days. Elsewhere you get PayPal in USD with a 2% fee. US sellers can add daily payouts or take instant payouts up to $10,000 for 3%. | Each sale goes straight to your connected Stripe, PayPal or other gateway account at the moment of purchase. Payouts need a bank account in a supported country or a PayPal account. | Open to anyone who can connect a supported payment gateway such as Stripe or PayPal.
